Absolutely! Between June and September, our stores bloom with seasonal styles. From chic, high-end Yukatas to light, airy summer kimonos, we have the perfect look to help you celebrate summer in Japan. Experience the beauty of the season in total comfort!
Please allow 1 to 1.5 hours for the full experience (selection, dressing, and hair styling). To ensure a relaxed experience, we suggest arriving with a flexible schedule, especially during busy seasons. While we honor all reservations, slight wait times may occur during peak hours to maintain our high standards of service.
Yes! We offer a wide range of sizes. We can accommodate women up to 130kg and men up to 150kg. Please feel free to book with confidence.
Yes, but advanced booking is required. Our photography service is charged by the hour with no limit on the number of people. Please check our “Photography Packages” for pricing. Note that the session time begins once you arrive at the shooting location.

Of course. Our staff will confirm any extra options with you in person, so you can decide after seeing them at the shop.
Yes! We support “Cross-Store Returns.” We will transfer your stored luggage to your return location for you (this service is not available for the Arashiyama store).
This service is only available for our Kyoto branches. When paying, simply tell the staff you would like to return your kimono to your hotel and provide the hotel details. (Note: You will typically need to take your own clothes and luggage with you when you leave the shop.)
All rentals must be returned by 18:00 (6:00 PM).
Unfortunately, our system does not allow for partial changes to the number of guests. Please make a new reservation and include “Change in number of people” in the remarks, or email us at info@ookini-kimono.jp.
You can book them for the same time or an hour apart. Our photographers will coordinate the shoot based on when you finish your fitting.
Women’s hairstyle: For plans that do not include hairstyling, an upgrade at the store costs ¥1,650.
Women’s lace accessories: ¥550 per item for a lace waist accessory or lace collar accessory.
Women’s wide obi upgrade: Upgrade to a wide obi (furisode-style obi) for ¥5,500.
Makeup service: ¥5,500 per person.
Men’s haori: For plans that do not include a haori jacket, an in-store upgrade costs ¥2,000.
Men’s hakama: In-store upgrade costs ¥5,000.
